According to Hellen Muthoki- the Machakos Equity Branch manager, 32 candidates from different vulnerable families benefitted from Wings To Fly Scholarship by the bank
Earlier, Equity had advised members of the public to apply for the scholarship
As Equity's norm, yesterday, the Branch manager Hellen Muthoki flagged off the candidates who secured a chance to join others at Pangani for an induction session as they await to join secondary school
Out of 325 students from Machakos Town Constituency who had applied for the scholarship, only 8 succeeded following a thorough research by a committee by Equity bank
Machakos Equity Branch manager Hellen motivated them asking them to make sure that they work hard to see their dreams come true and in return pay the community back
She went on giving hope for those who never qualified for the scholarship, saying that they are working for better and bigger milestones for the community
Sub County Director of Education Mutemi emphasized that it is now upon the candidates to make sure that they draw a smiling faces for the community
In attendance was religious leaders, beneficiaries, community among many other distinguished guests
