Businessman Loses Ksh 1.5M Cash Minutes After Withdrawing Money From Bank

The businessman affirmed that he was driving from Mihang'o, Utawala before a Subaru intercepted him and three armed thugs accosted him, ordering him to surrender the cash.

The businessman recounted that he willingly surrendered the amount that he had stashed in envelopes

“The robbers, three in number, were armed with rifles. They took the cash and sped towards Eastern Bypass in a Subaru vehicle,” read part of the police report.

Recounting the events, the businessman noted that he wasn't able to capture the number plate details of the car as the incident occurred in a flush.

According to the tycoon, the amount was to be used to pay construction workers at a site located in Njiru.

The business wondered how the thugs were able to execute the scheme from the time he withdrew the amount to the time they blocked his double-cabin vehicle.

A detective drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Embakasi intimated to the press that they suspected the scheme was an inside job. Investigations were launched to hunt down the three armed thugs
