Machakos Devolution Minister Dr.Consolata Mutisya has said devolution is real thus calling Kenyans to embrace it.
She said the Constitution secured devolution to facilitate citizens’ participation in governance as a basic principle and value outlined in the Constitution
The minister made the remarks at her office in Machakos earlier today.
She said when Devolution was introduced ' People seemed not to understand what Devolution was all about and thought negatively about devolution'
Consolata said devolution is the strongest form of decentralisation as it creates local governments that are elected by the citizens and make autonomous decisions on service delivery.
"We as Machakos people have started to see so many benefits of devolution' I urge you to embrace it " said Dr.Consolata.
