"Drugs Menace Among Students Is An Emerging Issue.Our Religious Leaders Intervene"- Wavinya Ndeti

Speaking at Mary Mount Catholic Church- Daystar in Athiriver while attending Church service on Sunday 16th July, 2023, Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti revealed that drug menace among students has been emerging issue.


Recently, Daystar student took away his life, following over misuse of drugs.


Wavinya urged religious leaders to set up counselling services within Daystar University so as to avoid such cases of suicide.

She vowed to visit the university to set up development plans ,saying that the university is key to the society, not only for Machakos County but Countrywide.

In other news: Governor Wavinya Ndeti said that Azimio Leadership should have a dialogue with Kenya Kwanza leadership for at long last, the results of all these political fights will be dialogue, saying the earlier they talk, the better.


Her words were echoed by Kinanie/ Mathatani Ward MCA Francis Kavyu, who distanced himself from Maandamano, saying that scheduled development projects in Machakos by National Government would be affected, if Governor Wavinya was for the protest.

Kavyu insisted that dialogue is the only solution.

Other leaders in attendance were; Daystar Vice Chancellor, Machakos Assembly Deputy Speaker Stephen Mwanthi, County CECs ; Onesmus Kuyu- Finance, Consolata Mutisya- Devolution, Nathaniel Nganga- Roads, MCAs among many other leaders.
