"Environment Is Nobody's Property But Everybody's Responsibility To Take Care Of "- Sarah Anupi

On Sartuday 22nd April 2023, over 2000 trees of different species,were planted at Kyumbi Dam at Kinanie/Mathatani Ward, Mavoko Sub-County in Machakos County.


The exercise was conducted by Environmental Organisation- Planet Plus in collaboration with Machakos County Government through Kinanie/ Mathatani Ward MCA Francis Kavyu.


Addressing the Media during the exercise, Planet Plus Founder Sarah Anupi Kutahi,young goal minded lady, said that Environment is Nobody's Property, but everybody's responsibility to take care of.

She revealed that if everyone takes responsibility of maintaining and taking care of the environment, then the issue of climate change will be a gone story.


Sarah Anupi called on all Machakos County locals to wake from comfort and join them in curbing climatic change problems.


She noted that it will take everyone's responsibility to ensure of mass tree planting, so as to mitigate climate change.


At Kyumbi Dam, over 2000 trees of different species were planted, with the help of community.


The community vowed to take care of the planted trees, saying that they were happy for Planet Plus to choose Kyumbi Dam to carry on tree planting exercise.

She said that she's visioned to make Kenya green and improve Vegetation Cover.

Sarah Anupi asked the area locals to take care of the planted trees,and have full ownership so as to make the area evergreen.


Kinanie/ Mathatani Ward MCA Francis Kavyu said that it might be a law soon, for an trader planning to invest in Machakos, to first picture out an area where he/she has planted trees so as to be issued with a work permit.

He said that climate change is a factor that should not be given a deaf ear.


He said that he will always be on the forefront on curbing climate change
