Governor Wavinya Appeals To The Public To Help Her Nab Individuals Stealing Drugs From Hospitals

Governor Ndeti said her government continued to face the challenge of theft of drugs from the hospitals even after replenishing the supplies.

Speaking after visiting Athi-river hospital on Sunday,Ms Ndeti urged the people to be vigilant and report anyone stealing drugs from hospitals for sale at private chemists.


"We have a problem of people stealing drugs from hospitals.We ask the people to be vigilant and give us information on those stealing drugs,"she said.


Last week a staff at Muumandu health center was caught with drugs from the hospital.


She had kept the drugs at the facility kitchen in order to transport the same later.


On Sunday,governor Ndeti said the county government will allocate Sh100 million towards a proposed Athi-river Level 4 hospital.


She said President William Ruto had already committed a further Sh100 million for the construction of the hospital which is expected to serve residents of Athi-river, Mlolongo and its environs.


She said the hospital will also comprise of a Private Wing and consultancy offices for doctors.


The Machskos County Boss revealed that there was a challenge of funding from the national government but assured that revenue collected will be properly-utilized for the benefit of the people.

She said her government had collected Sh1.4 billion this financial year.


She urged residents to continue paying taxes to enable government deliver services.

Earlier on,governor Ndeti accompanied by her executive and several members of the County Assembly joined worshippers at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Mlolongo where she also contributed funds towards various church projects.
