Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti on Monday morning asked all county employees to diligently work for the people of Machakos.
Wavinya noted that time for politicking is over and it's due time to work rightfully for the people of Machakos.
She was speaking this at Mavoko County Government offices, while witnessing the swearing in of John Kilonzo, the new Machakos Sports CEC, who has today been sworn in to replace former minister, Onesmus Muasya, who resigned.
"To the newly-appointed County Executive Member Gender,Sports,Youth and Social welfare Mr. John Mwangangi Kilonzo the job is cut out for you and the youth resonate with you.You have alot of work.Many of our youth are getting lost in drugs and we need to keep them busy"- Wavinya to Kilonzo
The Governor went on;
We are working on the Wikwatyo Fund for financing the youths to start their own businesses.Let us not only think of the money from the county. There are people out there including NGOs who are willing to finance our projects. Let us reach out and work with them.
Wavinya said that she's committed to serving machakos people rightfully and fruitfully, asking all the County employees to follow her steps, for she's leading as an example.
Wavinya added that:
"We have major projects coming up including the Football Kenya Sh600 Million National Football Technical Center to be built at the New Machakos City,completion of various stadia across the county as well as the Governor's Cup among other projects"
"This department is key to my government's agenda which seeks to make Machakos a sports tourism hub and ensuring the 'Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni' vision is realized for the benefit of our youths"
The newly sworn in Sports CEC John Kilonzo said that he's willingly ready to serve Machakos people appropriately.
