Habitat For Humanity Kenya Commissions Two ECD Classrooms In Homa Bay

Habitat for Humanity Kenya joined the County Government of Homa Bay, parents, community members and other stakeholders for the commissioning of two ECD classrooms.

The project was made possible with the support of Habitat for Humanity Greater Cincinnati. Besides the classrooms, Habitat for Humanity KE constructed 3 toilet blocks for the pupils and also installed rainwater harvesting system with 5 water tanks.

“The classrooms will bring hope to the pupils in this school and the entire community for the improvement of education standards. Poorly constructed ECD classrooms, exposes the young children to many risks and diseases leading to absenteeism. However, with these new classrooms there will definitely be an improvement in class attendance amongst the young learners," said Anthony Okoth, National Director Habitat for Humanity Kenya.

Habitat for Humanity Kenya also handed over 25 newly constructed houses to low-income and vulnerable families. H. E. Deputy Governor Joseph Magwanga presided over house handing over ceremony when he visited one of the families to officially commission the new house.
