Agnes Kavindu Machakos Senator, who is the Chairperson of the Ad Hoc Committee, called on the Kenyan Government to also look at the plight of the survivors by offering them employment opportunities and subsidized medical treatment.
“Besides lobbying the USA Government, as a Committee, we’ll coordinate with the Ministry of Health to explore ways in which the Government can offer subsidized medical treatment for the surviving victims of the bomb blast,” Senator Kavindu said.
On their part, the Members of the Committee thanked the Senate Leadership for approving the establishment of the Committee and reiterated their resolve in finding a lasting solution to the survivors’ suffering.
“I assure the country that the 13th Senate has their interest at heart. The Senate gave this Committee the mandate to deal with this matter in the country and the United States of America. We’ll do our best,” Baringo Senator William Cheptumo added.
