The Machakos county supplementary Appropriation Bill 2022, which was tabled by Hon Dominic Ndambuki the chairperson Budget and Appropriation committee.
The chairperson of the Budget committee revealed that the spending priorities for the Budget Estimates have been informed by the efforts being made by the National and county government to stabilize the economy in a concerted effort to alleviate service delivery and contribute immensely towards improving the lives of residents

According Hon Ndambuki the health sector had been allocated the highest amount which is 4.3billion which will help purchasing pharmaceutical materials, construction and completion of health facilities as well as catering for emergency services.
“The health sector has been allotted the most funds, totaling 4.3 billion dollars, which will be used to purchase pharmaceutical supplies, construct and complete health facilities, and provide emergency service,” said Ndambuki.
While seconding the motion Hon Hellen Ndeti said that Many Health facilities lacked proper amenities and the right infrastructure something which is very vital to all citizens mostly during this time of covid- 19 and the money should be distributed equally to all the health facilities.
Hon Hellen Ndeti also added that the funds should be used for the right purposes as stipulated in the Budget and they are not supposed to be used during this campaign period to give political mileage to some political leaders
“The money should be used for the intended purposes as outlined in the Budget, and that they should not be exploited during the campaign season to give political mileage to certain politicians,” added Hellen Ndeti.
Others who supported the motion included Matuu Ward MCA Judas Mbili Ndawa who appreciated the Members of Machakos County Assembly for considering health as very important sector among the residents of Machakos County.
Hon Ndawa also proposed that the county leadership purchases solar panels to be used in the health facilities when electricity power fails or when there are huge bills like it has been witnessed in the past
“I also request that the county government buy solar panels for use in health institutions when the power goes out or there are large bills, as has happened in the past,” added Ndawa.
