Machakos County Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi Kilonzo, toured the Yatta Furrow intake and noted that the Water levels of Thika River had dropped significantly hence affecting water flow down the canal.
"As County Government we will work with the national Government to fast track the construction of the Yatta dam which will offer a permanent solution to water scarcity in Yatta and by extension Machakos County.In the meantime I appeal to the Yatta Water Services Board to ensure controlled irrigation along the canal so that the little water avaliable is available to all farmers downstream"- said Mwangangi
