The role of national Government in addressing the drought and famine situation currently being witnessed in many parts of Lower Eastern, Machakos County being one of them cannot be ignored.
Today,Machakos County Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi Kilonzo,held a consultative meeting with yatta DCC Lillian Njagi at her offices in Kithimani and discussed on how both levels of Government can collaborate in addressing the situation.
"Our discussions emphasised on the role Yatta Dam will play in ensuring adequate water supply to enhance Agricultural production in Yatta, Masinga and some parts of Mwala sub-counties."- said Mwangangi
