Today Thursday, is a great day for residents of Matuu and Yatta at large as Co- operative Bank expanded its branch network to Matuu Town.
The opening of the branch is a pointer to the fact that the local economy, is vibrant and that there is a growing demand for banking services.
Speaking today at Matuu when she witnessed the opening of the new branch, Co- operative Bank Director Jacqueline Waithaka, said that opening of the branch will help Matuu grow economically, saying that as Co-operative management, they are committed to grow the economy in Yatta.
"Everytime you think of a financial partner, think of Co- operative Bank. We are there to help Matuu and Machakos generally, grow its economy"- Waithaka said
Director Waithaka urged Boda Boda guys to form cooperatives to easily access funds to grow their businesses.
"We will help you register your cooperatives, manage and equip you with enough knowledge on the same"- added Waithaka

Matuu Town is one of key municipalities.
The Thika-Garrisa Highway which cuts through the town is a major factor in the growth of the town as it connects to the Capital City of Nairobi. This coupled with the general hospitality of the local population makes Matuu an ideal location for business.
